We are delighted to announce L.A. Raeven's new exhibition The Concept of Self, opening November 15 from 5 to 7pm, and running until December 20.

In The Concept of Self, L.A. Raeven explore the boundaries between autonomy and control, identity and performance, vulnerability and resistance. The exhibition brings together new works that reflect their ongoing interest in the fragmented and constructed nature of the self within contemporary society.

Through video, installation, and performative elements, The Concept of Self confronts viewers with the often uncomfortable tensions between individuality and social conformity, and the complex interplay of internal and external expectations. L.A. Raeven are trying to find answers to questions like ‘Do I have a Self? Am I my sister? Why I can’t be two?

This exhibition marks a significant moment in their practice, as this project is part of an ongoing research in conversation with scientists, philosophers, and other researchers in the medical field.
