Fleurs Chaudes Lingerie (Summer collection 2026) is part of Pauline Curnier Jardin’s series Hot Flashes Flowers, which includes Hot Flower Forest (2023) and Kuumat Kukat Lingerie (Hot Flowers Lingerie) (2024). The third in a series of four works, each corresponding to a different season, this piece was originally conceived for Art Basel Paris 2026.

The different works in the series are closely interconnected, functioning as portals that transform the visitor as they move through them, merging botanical and bodily landscapes into a single scene. The series stems from Curnier Jardin’s film Qu’un Sang Impur (2019), reimagining the meticulously maintained gardens of the older women depicted in the film, whose lush vegetation becomes a metaphorical landscape of “hot flashes.” In the film, postmenopausal women experience and express sexual desire and liberation beyond conventional associations between femininity, sexuality, and childbearing.

Like the other works in the series, Fleurs Chaudes Lingerie (Summer Collection 2026) takes the form of oversized undergarments overflowing with passionflower petals. The installation merges floral abundance with the seductive and theatrical aesthetics of lingerie design, drawing on the exaggerated and highly sexualised universe of Victoria’s Secret while also incorporating Curnier Jardin’s longstanding collaborations with Rome’s Feel Good Cooperative as a source of inspiration. Transforming lingerie from an intimate garment into an immersive sculptural environment, the work invites the visitor to enter a world in which body, flower, costume, and landscape become fluidly and theatrically intertwined.

This work was produced with the support of Ellen Windhorst.
